ID 1.14.13.88 DE Flavonoid 3',5'-hydroxylase. AN F3',5'H. AN F3'5'H. CA (1) A flavanone + NADPH + O(2) = a 3'-hydroxyflavanone + NADP(+) + H(2)O. CA (2) A 3'-hydroxyflavanone + NADPH + O(2) = a 3',5'-dihydroxyflavanone + CA NADP(+) + H(2)O. CF Heme-thiolate. CC -!- The 3',5'-dihydroxyflavanone is formed via the 3'-hydroxyflavanone. CC -!- In Petunia hybrida the enzyme acts on naringenin, eriodictyol, CC dihydroquercetin (taxifolin) and dihydrokaempferol (aromadendrin). CC -!- The enzyme catalyzes the hydroxylation of 5,7,4'-trihydroxyflavanone CC (naringenin) at either the 3' position to form eriodictyol or at both CC the 3' and 5' positions to form 5,7,3',4',5'-pentahydroxyflavanone CC (dihydrotricetin). CC -!- The enzyme also catalyzes the hydroxylation of CC 3,5,7,3',4'-pentahydroxyflavanone (taxifolin) at the 5' position, CC forming ampelopsin. CC -!- NADH is not a good substitute for NADPH.
