The Swiss-Prot group is part of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB). It is in charge of research and development in the fields of bioinformatics, and in particular of protein databases. Its main activity, in collaboration with the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), is the development of Swiss-Prot.
