HAMAP: Agrobacterium tumefaciens (strain C58 / ATCC 33970) complete proteome

General information

Species:  Agrobacterium tumefaciens (strain C58 / ATCC 33970)
Species code: AGRT5
Taxonomy: Bacteria; Proteobacteria; Alphaproteobacteria; Rhizobiales; Rhizobiaceae; Rhizobium/Agrobacterium group; Agrobacterium (TaxID: 176299) [NEWT/ NCBI]
Description: Gram-negative motile rod. Members of the genus Agrobacterium invade the crown, roots and stems of a great variety of plants via wounds causing tumors. The diseases are crown gall, hairy root, and cane gall. Some strains possess a wide host range, whereas other possess a very limited host range. The tumor is correlated with the presence of a large tumor-inducing plasmid (Ti plasmid) in the bacteria. Agrobacteria inhabit the soil.
Properties: Presence of flagella: Yes
Interaction: Plant pathogen
Number of membranes: 2
Number of inteins:0
Statistics: Number of AGRT5 entries in the UniProt Knowledgebase: 5344 (595 in UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot + 4749 in UniProtKB/TrEMBL)
